Penny Lowery Lee, 64, of Lilesville, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, surrounded by family.
She was born on Jan. 13, 1961, daughter of the late Richard Vester Lowery Sr. and Judy Ellen Hammonds.
We say goodbye to a true fighter, a woman whose spirit was as bold as a firecracker. She faced every challenge with toughness and heart, raising four daughters on her own and giving them a life filled with love, laughter, and strength.
She never said no to her grandchildren, who knew they could always count on her for anything. She had a special love for thrift stores, always on the hunt for hidden treasures.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she gave endlessly and loved fiercely. Her strength, kindness, and spark will live on in the family she adored.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Along with her parents, Penny was preceded in death by her husbands, Julius Vernon Lee Jr. and Johnny “J.W.” Eddins; and brothers, Richard Vester Lowery Jr. and John Eric Lowery.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Brandy Lee Webster of Lilesville, Brittany Lee Benton (Brandon Dial) of Lilesville, Bethany Lee Gleich (Justin) of Kenly, and Rachel Destiny Eddins (Jessi Barber) of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Gavyn Lee, Llandon Lee, Hayden Lee, Julian Gleich, Isabelle Gleich and Beauden Gleich; brother, Lee Andrew Lowery (Karen) of Lilesville; sister, Susan Gathings (Brian) of Peachland; and sister-in-law, Tammy Lowery of Morven.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, from noon-1 p.m., at Harrington Funeral Home in Hamlet.
A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the visitation at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Dean Dixon officiating.
Burial will be held privately.
