Priscilla Alden Lewis, 96, of Marston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 24, 1929 in Moore County to the late Amasa Crawford Alden and Lilia Mae Campbell Alden.
Priscilla loved life, family, friends, fun and hard work. She was married to the love of her life, Vogle J. Lewis, for 35 years until his death in 1981. Thereafter she devoted herself to her work as personnel director for Carolina Galvanizing Corporation from which she retired after 27 years of dedicated service to become a full-time grandmother, babysitter, playmate, advisor, and friend to her favorite people on earth — her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a person of faith, a life-long member of Marston Presbyterian Church, and always a friend to those in need. She will be dearly missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vogle Jerome Lewis; son, Jerome Lewis; and her seven sisters, Marguerite Rivers, Doris Smith, Betty Jo Foley, Peggy Taylor, Elsie Edmunds, Patsy Smith and Jeannie Baldwin.
Surviving are her children, Margaret Leak (Randy), Kenny Crawford Lewis and Anne Lewis (wife of Jerome); grandchildren, Aime McCall (Chris), Alden Lewis Kohl (John), Tommy Leak (Kelly), Chris Leak (Sara) and Daniel Lewis; great-grandchildren, Whitney Morgan, Christopher Morgan (Ashley), Lacy McCall, Gracie Harris (Nate), Rachel Kohl, Hailey Leak, Lindsey Leak, Atlas Leak and Murphy Leak; and great-grandchildren, Wesley Harris and Hazel Harris.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Pastor Chris Leak officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
