Raymond “Ray” Edwards Jr., 66, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025.
Ray was a son of Patricia Colegrove Edwards and the late Raymond Edwards Sr. He was born May 4, 1958 in Elmira, New York.
Before retiring, Ray worked for many years at the Rockingham Dollar Tree. In his free time, he loved to fish with his brother, Dale. He was a member of Amazing Grace Freewill Baptist and loved attending sermons.
At the time of writing this obituary, Ray was survived by his mother, Patricia Edwards, who has since passed on and joined him in Heaven, Feb. 4, 2025. Ray currently is survived by his son, Elton Ray Edwards; and younger brother, Dale Edwards.
A celebration of Life for Ray and his mother Patricia will be conducted jointly. The family of Ray and Patricia will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Lee officiating.
