Robert Louis Peed, 84, of Rockingham, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at The Hermitage Retirement Center.
He was born to the late Vaxter Onis Peed and Laura Belle Patrick Peed on April 20, 1942.
Robert was very intelligent and thoughtful; he had a remarkable memory and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. He was also the epitome of kindness. He loved the outdoors and found happiness in nature, especially tending to his flowers and showing off his green thumb. He especially enjoyed watching birds, tractors, admiring trains, and collecting and building model cars.
Through every challenge, he rarely complained, and faced life with grace and quiet resilience. One of his greatest acts of love was the devoted care he gave to his sister, Laura Ann, whom he faithfully supported with tenderness and dedication.
He will be remembered for his warm heart, gentle nature, and the countless ways he made life better for those around him. His memory will be cherished by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vaxter Onis Peed Jr; sister, Laura Ann Peed; and sister-in-law, Carol Peed.
Robert is survived by his brothers, Wallace Peed of Hamlet and Carl Ray Peed (Charlotte) of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 4 p.m., at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery, Wallace, South Carolina.
