Rose Marie Freeman Latham Chappell, 77, of Mount Gilead, passed away in route to Atrium Health Hospital Albemarle.
She was born at her family home in Star, the daughter of the late David Louis and Elgie Mae Britt Freeman.
She was taught by her mother to sew early in life which would become her first job at Capel's in Troy, and later a hobby after becoming disabled due to a fire while working at the Imperial Foods chicken processing plant in Hamlet, Sept. 3, 1991.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved twins, Willie Joe Latham (baby), Billie Joe Latham (44); and also her sister, Mary Louise (Sue) Freeman Moore.
Surviving are her sister, Brenda Ann Burroughs (Kirby); children, Jerry Bester Latham Jr. (Kay), Mollie Marie Latham Clark (David), Terry Lamar Latham (Sherry), James Elisha Chappell Jr. (Jannie), and Wilburn Lee Chappell; seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
The visitation was held at Gailes Funeral Home, Asheboro, on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
The graveside service was held at the Britt Family Cemetery in Biscoe on Friday, March 14, 2025.
