Sandra Smith Martin, 70, of Rockingham, completed her earthly journey on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.
Sandra was born March 22, 1954 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Edward McPhail and Clarice Russell Kelly.
She had worked in textiles, for JC Penny and lastly with Owens-Illinois. She spent many happy years in California, attributing to her love for the beach and particularly the Pacific Ocean.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry H. “Butch” Martin; children, Deanna Hodges (Robert), Kerri M. Spivey and Charlie Martin (Erin); 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Teresa Shepard.
A celebration of Sandra’s life will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the Rev. Travis Conner officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:45–1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
