Sandra “Sandy” Smith McNeill, 72, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond.
She was born March 31, 1953 in Fulton County, Georgia, daughter of the late Herbert Melvin Smith and Emily Carter Smith.
Sandy retired as a bus driver with Richmond County Schools after more than 20 years of service. She enjoyed her bus kids, loved them, and they loved her. She was an avid animal lover and especially loved her dogs. Sandy was a true friend to anyone she called friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Melvin and Emily Carter Smith.
Sandy is survived by her children, Chandra Leviner of Newton, and Jamie Leviner (Angelia) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Peyton Babson, Leah Leviner and Taylor Hinson; and brothers, Chuck Smith (Carol) of Tennessee and Larry Smith (Robin) of Rockingham.
No formal services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice in loving memory of Sandy.
