Sharon Morse Prevatte, 75, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Richmond County Hospice Haven, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 12, 1950 in Rockingham, daughter of the late Raymond Morse and Willa Mae Dunn Gibson.
Sharon worked many years in daycare and for several of those years owned the daycare — loving, caring and nurturing many children over the years.
She was a member of Abundant Life Church and was a faithful, God-fearing lady, giving of herself to many in need. Of everything kind on this earth, Sharon was…loving, sweet, and caring. One of her many attributes was her beautiful smile — she always carried her smile everywhere she went. She never met a stranger and loved people. Of her many loves in life, her family was most important. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James William “Billy” Prevatte Sr.; brothers, Richard Morse and Steven Morse; and sisters, Gail Cashwell and Johnnie Lyde.
Left to cherish Sharon’s memory are her husband, John W. Webb of the home; her children, Tammy Jean Prevatte of Laurel Hill, Candas Nadene Prevatte of Rockingham and James William Prevatte Jr. of Hamlet; grandchildren, Naterica Prevatte, Lillian Prevatte, Kaitlin Breazeale, Jody Wells, Haiden Prevatte and William Prevatte; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Gabriel Breazeale; and her special, beloved four-legged companion, Chloe.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Abundant Life Church, Rockingham, with Pastor Joe B. Wilkes officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
