Sylvia Boyte Speight, 85, of Rockingham, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Nov. 24, 2023.
Mrs. Speight was born July 24, 1938 in Moore County, a daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Alma Campbell Boyte.
After obtaining her associate degree and becoming a registered nurse, she touched many lives while doing home health and hospice. She attended the Rockingham Church Of God Of Prophecy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles Thomas Speight Sr.; brothers, Joseph Boyte, James Boyte and John Boyte (Ruth).
Surviving are her children, Charles Thomas Speight Jr. (Amanda) of Randleman, Ashworth Lee “Ashley” Speight (Denise) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Jared (Kennedi), Nikolas, Charlie and Paisley; sisters-in-law, Jan Boyte and Betty Boyte Ellis.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023 at the Church of God of Prophecy, Flowers Street, Rockingham, with Pastor Steve Gilmer officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will see friends from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Samaritan’s Purse in memory of Sylvia Speight.
Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham is assisting the Speight family.
