Yvonne Marie Valov-Celso, 71, of Red Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at UNC Southeastern Hospital in Lumberton.
She was born on June 24, 1954, to the late Ivor Murphy and Joan Softly Murphy.
Yvonne was a devoted wife and mother, dedicated professional, and cherished friend to many. She took great pride in her career and was well respected by her colleagues, earning the admiration of all who knew her.
A talented and creative person, she loved arts and crafts, knitting, painting china, and refurbishing old furniture. She was an avid animal lover who rescued and cared for many cats and dogs throughout her life. She also enjoyed cooking, especially baking delicious treats for family and friends.
Her warm personality allowed her to make friends wherever she went, and she will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and generous spirit. Above all, she dearly loved her husband and treasured the life they shared together.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mervyn Celso.
Left to cherish her memories, her daughters, Caitlin Celso of the home and Joanie Celso (Nathaniel Futterman) of Oakland, California.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home in Hamlet.
