ROCKINGHAM — Two men are accused of firing into an occupied home.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has charged 19-year-old Anthony Brett Locklear, of Rockingham, and 29-year-old Robert Julius McMahon, of Ellerbe, each with one felony count of discharging a weapon into an occupied property.
According to warrants, Locklear and McMahon fired shots into a home on Roberdel Road on April 5.
At the time, the home was occupied by two adults, two teens aged 15 and 16, and a 10-year-old.
Locklear was arrested April 7 and McMahon was taken into custody April 8, according to records with the Richmond County Jail.
Each is being held on a $400,000 secured bond and they are scheduled to appear in court April 24.
Online court records show McMahon has a pending charge of second-degree trespassing from 2023.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show McMahon was convicted in 2020 of communicating threats.
It appears Locklear has no other pending charges or prior convictions.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
