ROCKINGHAM — Police say a recent parolee suspected of several recent larcenies ran from them during the investigation.
Raymond Harvey Ingram, 59, of Rockingham, is accused of stealing Minute Maid fruit punch and a pack of sunflower seeds from Refuel Store No. 135 on Feb. 22.
The following day, Ingram allegedly returned to that store and walked out with a Mountain Dew, sunflower seeds and two Snickers bars. He also allegedly stole dog food from the Dollar General on Fayetteville Road.
While officers with the Rockingham Police Department were investigating the larcenies on Feb. 24, Ingram allegedly ran into the woodline between Skipper and Church streets.
Ingram was arrested and charged with three counts of misdemeanor larceny, three counts of resisting a public officer, and one count of second-degree trespassing.
He is being held in the Richmond County Jail on a combined $25,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 5 on the larceny and trespassing charges and March 13 on the resisting charges.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Ingram was released from prison on Feb. 5 after serving nearly 15 months in prison for a 2024 conviction of habitual larceny in Wake County. His parole was set to end Nov. 2.
