HAMLET — Peggy Nail Kennedy Farmer, 84, of Hamlet, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at her residence. 

She was born May 28, 1935 in Birmingham, Alabama, daughter of Erskine Nail Sr. and Minnie Little Nail.

Mrs. Farmer was a member of The Second Baptist Church of Hamlet for many years, a member of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society. Peggy was a true example of a Christian. She enjoyed her card club, the beach and loved her grandchildren. Many remember her being previously employed at the Hamlet Police Department as a dispatcher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Sonny Kennedy; and second husband, Aubrey Farmer.

Survivors include her children, Kim K. Hughes (Terry) of Easley, South Carolina, Karen K. Ray (Jeff) of Ormond Beach, Florida, Ken Kennedy (Mandy) of New London, and Keith Kennedy (Cindy) of Piedmont, South Carolina; brother, Erskine Nail Jr. of Hoover, Alabama; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Due to restrictions of COVID-19, a private Graveside will take place at Richmond Memorial Park with Pastor Chris Hawks officiating.
