PHOTOS: JV Renegades vs. Scotland

ROCKINGHAM — The junior varsity Richmond Renegade baseball team mercy-ruled Scotland in six innings on Thursday.

Elijah Shepard pitched five innings to earn the win on the mound, and allowed just one hit in the process. He struck out two batters.

Preston Fann went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and a single. His final hit was a three-RBI three-bagger down the line in left field.

Richmond jumped out to a 5-0 lead through the first two innings. 

Runs were scored on a bases-loaded walk, a passed ball, an RBI single by Jake Richardson, an error and an RBI groundout by Colton Brown.

Chase Woody stole home in the fifth, which was followed by Fann’s three-run triple. The final run came when Tristian Chavis hit into a fielder’s choice with the bases loaded in the sixth.

Braden Baucom tossed the final inning for the JV Renegades, stranding two base runners.

Next up for the JV Renegades (4-4-2) will be a road game at Scotland on Wednesday, starting at 4 p.m.
