ROCKINGHAM — The first of two senior day celebrations Wednesday at Richmond Senior High School was held for the Lady Raider tennis team.
Also the first recognition of seniors for the fall sports season, the tennis program took time ahead of its Mid-South Conference match to celebrate its two seniors.
Skyler Collins and Jentry Denson were showered in gifts, banners and stories of memorable moments by teammates, family members and classmates.
Denson has been a Lady Raider tennis player for four years and a starter for three seasons, while Collins joined the program during her junior year.
Head coach Jessica Covington spoke about both players and thanked each of them for her contributions to the program the last several years.
The Richmond Observer will publish the results of Wednesday’s match against Hoke County High School when they’re available.
