ROCKINGHAM — Sophomore Colbie Covington scored a goal in the season opener for the Richmond Senior High School girls’ soccer team Monday.
Assisted by senior Hanna Smith, Covington’s tally knotted the match 1-1 against non-conference Jack Britt High School in the 69th minute.
The late rally came up just short for Richmond, which allowed a goal with three minutes left in regulation to fall 2-1.
