RAMSEUR, N.C. — A two-run deficit for Hamlet Post 49 will be played out on a later date this month.
On the road at Eastern Randolph Post 81 Thursday, the 49ers trailed 4-2 after four and a half innings. A heavy rainfall, however, suspended the game.
The umpires and head coaches decided to delay the game after field conditions were not up to par following a 20-minute hiatus.
John Carre was responsible for both of Hamlet’s runs. He hit an RBI single in the top of the second and scored a run on a wild pitch in the top of the fifth.
