HAMLET — An early tie in Sunday’s game didn’t go in the direction of the Hamlet American Legion Junior baseball team.
Playing its second game in the Hall of Fame Classic, Hamlet lost 4-1 to the Garner Nationals.
Scoring on a wild pitch in the second inning to make it 1-1 was Drew Gause, who led off the inning with a single.
Head coach Robert Smith credited Post 49 for playing tough against an older, more experienced Garner team.
