BENNETTSVILLE — The Richmond Senior High School wrestling team came up a few points short of a win Wednesday.
Competing in a non-conference dual at Marlboro County High School, the Raiders lost 42-36.
Trailing by as many as 30 points early in the match, Richmond rallied to tie the score 36-36. The Bulldogs clinched the win in the final bout of the night.
Three veteran Raiders earned pinfall victories to cap the rally — junior Konner Gardner (175-pounds), senior Jason Gainey (190-pounds) and senior Jordan Hamilton (215-pounds).
Freshman Gabriyel Geiger, one of two girls on the team, also pinned her opponent in the 120-pound match.
