GREENSBORO — Returning to the win column Friday, the Richmond Raider football team also got back to the .500 mark.
In what proved to be an historic night for senior quarterback Evan Hodges, the Raiders defeated Northwest Guilford High School 42-21.
Hodges set a single-game career-high with five passing touchdowns, connecting with four different receivers all in the first half.
Senior Amer Morrison caught two TDs. Seniors Jayden Hamilton and Keonta Pegues, and junior Jasiah Cooper, all scored once through the air.
Leading 35-7 at halftime, Richmond added its final score early in the third quarter. A rushing score by junior Chance Crowder started the running clock with 7:01 to go.
Defensively, the Raiders were led by freshman Cam’ron Coley and his three quarterback sacks.
The Raiders (2-2) end their non-conference slate next Friday at home against West Forsyth High School (3-1). Kickoff at Raider Stadium is back to its regular 7:30 p.m. start time.
