LAURINBURG — A low-scoring rivalry game ended in a one-run loss for the Richmond Raider baseball team Tuesday.
Splitting its two-game series with Scotland High School, Richmond lost the finale 3-2.
The Fighting Scots took an early 3-0 lead and Richmond plated both of its runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Evan Hodges drove in the first run on an RBI groundout to third base, and Drew Gause later scored on a wild pitch.
The Raiders had their chances to win, but stranded 11 base runners (including eight in scoring position) in the game.
