ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond Raider baseball team hosted Pinecrest High School to close its two-game regular season series Friday.
Richmond held an early lead but lost 3-2.
A 1-0 lead for Richmond held until the fourth inning, which saw Pinecrest score its three runs between the fourth and fifth frames. Two errors accounted for two of the Patriots’ runs.
Senior Jabari Douglas led off the first with a single and later scored on a wild pitch. Down by two runs in the sixth, senior Landon Taylor (infield single) scored on a double steal when fellow senior Jeremiah Ritter swiped second.
Junior Caden Nolan allowed three runs (one earned) over six innings of work. He struck out five batters. Ritter closed the final inning, facing just four batters.
