ROCKINGHAM — Another spring sports program held its annual senior night at Richmond Senior High School Tuesday.
The Raider baseball program took time ahead of its series opener against Scotland High School to recognize its six soon-to-be graduates.
Representing the Raiders’ Class of 2025 were Riley Brown, Jabari Douglas, Conner Phifer, Jeremiah Ritter, Landon Taylor and Jason Walker.
Taylor spent three seasons at the varsity level, while the other five seniors have contributed the past two seasons for head coach Eric Brown.
Ahead of the opening pitch, each senior was recognized by public address announcer Jim Butler. Short biographies, favorite memories and future plans were read while the players were escorted by family members to the third base line.
Greeting the players were assistant coaches Anthony Hailey, Ryan Mercer, Andy Shuler and Kevin Wallace and Brown. Players were presented with a framed graphic of themselves.
Last week, the Richmond boys’ tennis, softball and track and field programs hosted senior night. The Lady Raider soccer team has its senior night scheduled for April 29.
The Richmond Observer will publish a complete article of Tuesday’s game against Scotland soon.
