ROCKINGHAM — The rattling of pins returned for the first couple of times this school year for the Richmond Senior High School bowling program.
Tuesday and Wednesday were the two days of tryouts for the Raiders and Lady Raiders, which bowled practice games at Striker’s Bowling Center and Lounge.
More than 20 bowlers attended the tryouts, as Richmond will be led for the second season by head coaches Chris and Ashleigh Larsen.
A season ago, the Lady Raiders finished as the state runner-up. Returning this year are three of those team members — seniors Hanna Smith and Ava Thompson, along with junior Jentry Denson.
The Raiders didn’t make the team state tournament last year, but senior Landon Summerlin will try to build upon his All-State performance in the individual championship.
