ROCKINGHAM — Ahead of all the celebrating Friday, which came after the Richmond Senior High School football team won the 2025 conference championship, the focus was on its senior players.

The final senior night of the fall sports season was held under the Friday night lights of Raider Stadium. In addition to the football team recognizing its seniors, the Richmond cheerleading team also honored its seniors.

There were 21 football seniors celebrated before kickoff, as well as five cheerleaders.

The football players, in order of jersey number, were: Amer Morrison, Jayden Hamilton, Domonic Tillman, Keonta Pegues, Terande Spencer, Jermaine Bright, Evan Hodges, Christian Everett, Preston Fann, Jake Veach, Zamarion Robinson, Andre Anthony, Jason Gainey, Esaias Brunson, Liam Stubbs, Jonathan Rose, Robert Monroe, Daylyn Robinson, Tyler McKenzie, Jayden Little and Demonte Martin.

This year’s senior cheerleaders, called by alphabetical order, were Makayla Brown, Madelyn Burnett, Laney Dawkins, Malasia Fletcher and Emma Williams.

During the football ceremony, players jogged individually from the field house through a tunnel created by teammates to the 50-yard line while a biography of their time with the program was read.

Meeting them at the end of the tunnel was head coach Brad Denson, as players then joined their parents, family members and a “Teacher of Impact” at midfield.

The procession finished with players and their families walking toward the grandstands and under the JROTC sabre team’s salute.

Richmond’s senior cheerleaders were also escorted by family members and a Teacher of Impact.
