ROCKINGHAM — Between the junior varsity and varsity volleyball matches Thursday, Richmond Senior High School’s program took time to recognize its soon-to-be graduates.
Hosting senior night ahead of their regular-season finale against Pinecrest High School, the Lady Raiders and head coach Ashleigh Larsen celebrated three players.
This year’s seniors for Richmond were Carleigh Gibson, J’Nasia Neal and Ka’mora Watkins. Each player has spent the past two seasons playing at the varsity level.
Richmond’s gym was decked out with photos and memorabilia of the three seniors, including customized volleyballs and banners.
Arthur Gilliam announced each senior, who was escorted through a tunnel of teammates by family members. Favorite memories and future plans were among the things shared about the three seniors.
The Richmond Observer will publish the results of Thursday’s match soon.
