Place of Grace Campus Hosts “50’s on the Hill”

ROCKINGHAM - Tis the season to celebrate fall as the most refreshing time of the year. It not only brings cooler temperatures along with colorful changing of leaves, but it also brings many anticipated fall festivals. On that note, there will be an exciting and unique event of that nature on Wednesday October 31, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the campus of Place of Grace.

The festival was the brainstorm of Diane Radford, a member of Place of Grace. The idea for it began as Radford pondered the thought of something different. One day while she was thinking of a way to host a unique fall festival, the idea of an old fashioned “50’s on the Hill” came to her.

Place of Grace was previously Rohanen School which was built in the early 1900’s and sits on a hill in East Rockingham; thus came the idea of a blast from the past 50’s style festival.

“I enjoy being part of what God is doing at the Place of Grace and completely agree with the vision pastors Gary Richardson and Ernie Walters have as far as reaching people and giving them hope. We want to give the people in this community a hand up, not a hand out,” said Radford.

With the aid of many others who are helping, the idea will become a reality for the community on October 31.

The festival will allow children to go cruising for candy as there will be trunk or treats available. Many other activities will also be taking place which include a cake walk, outdoor music, games, and an outdoor service. Cotton candy and popcorn will be served. There will also be classic shows and music from the 50’s playing.

Place of Grace is located at 252 School Street Rockingham, NC. All are encouraged to come out and celebrate (dressed 50’s style) while cruising-in to celebrate Jesus!
