ROCKINGHAM — An early lead for the Richmond Raider baseball team didn’t hold during Tuesday’s third round playoff game.
Making it to the third round for the first time in a decade, the No. 6 Raiders lost 6-1 to No. 19 Ballantyne Ridge.
Richmond took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first in the 7A West quarterfinal when Jake Veach (infield single) scored on a wild pitch.
The Wolves scored three runs in the fifth and three more runs in the seventh.

The No. 6 Raiders ended their season with a 19-7 overall record, the most wins in a single season since 2019 (19).
Richmond went 13-2 in the Mid-South Conference, winning its first regular-season title since 2016.
