ROCKINGHAM — Another big win for the Richmond Senior High School football team resulted in a host of players being recognized at Monday’s practice.
Staying perfect in Mid-South Conference play, the Raiders defeated Jack Britt High School 49-28 to earn a win on homecoming night.
The Players of the Week selected by the coaching staff this week were:
Offense: Evan Hodges (senior quarterback)
Defense: Shamir Jones (junior defensive back)
Special Teams: Adan King (junior defensive back)
Practice: Kaleb Brown (junior linebacker)
Weight Room: Tyler McKenzie (senior offensive lineman)
Hodges threw for two second-half touchdowns, while Jones had one of Richmond’s four interceptions, returning it for a touchdown. At center, McKenzie helped pave the way to five total offensive touchdowns (three passing, two rushing).
Per the usual weekly ritual, Rex and Jill Crouch were at practice to present the players with a Top Guns Strength and Performance Gym t-shirt.
The Raiders (5-2, 2-0 MSC) play at Hoke County High School (2-4, 1-1 MSC) Friday at 7:30 p.m.
