ROCKINGHAM — Mr. Randy Wayne Hughes, 67, of Northside Drive, Rockingham, passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Hughes was born in Harnett County, Sept. 28, 1953, son of Emmery Hughes and Julia Honeycutt Webb.
He served our country in the United States Army. He was an electrician and worked in construction with Myrick Construction Company. Mr. Hughes attended Outreach for Jesus. Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed horseback riding, rabbit hunting, fishing, boat riding and camping out. He loved his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmery Hughes; granddaughter, Skylar Diane Hughes; and brother, Marty Eugene Hughes.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Julia H. and J.E. Webb of Erwin; daughters, Shannon Nicole Hughes (Tony), Miranda “Mandy” Joy Hughes (Steve) and Ashley Brooke Hughes, all of Rockingham; sons, Brandon Wayne Hughes (Blair Patterson) and Joshua Ryan Hughes, all of Rockingham; grandchildren, Alyssa Renae Hughes, Cameron Isaiah Hughes, Braxton Tyreka Hughes, Daliyah Nyshae Hughes, Jada Nicole Hughes, Trent Skylar Patterson, and Carson Zane Hughes; brother, Gary Lynn Hughes (Barbara) of Angier; sisters, Rhonda Stewart (Eddie) of Bunnlevel, and Lisa Holloway of Charlotte; half-brothers, Pete Hughes (Tammy) of Rockingham, Mark Hughes of Albemarle, and Marty Hughes of Ellerbe; half-sisters, Kay Durden (Edward) of Rockingham and Teresa Hughes of Wilmington.
A memorial service will be held, Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 at 5 p.m. at Outreach for Jesus.
The family will receive friends afterward at the home of his daughter, Miranda “Mandy” Hughes, 361 Lockhaven Road, Rockingham.
