ELLERBE — Human remains were reportedly found in northern Richmond County on Friday.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office announced on social media that deputies were called “to an undisclosed location” in the Ellerbe area for a welfare check.
During that investigation, deputies reportedly found human remains on the property.
The sheriff’s office says that the investigation is in its early stages and declined to disclose the address or name of the potential victim until the body could be identified and the family notified.
The Richmond Observer will have more information as it becomes available.
