DOBBINS HEIGHTS — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an early afternoon shooting that sent a man to a hospital.
The sheriff’s office responded to the call around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, with Sheriff Mark Gulledge and several deputies abruptly leaving during the National Day of Prayer at the old courthouse.
According to the RCSO, an adult male was shot several times on Sanford Street in Dobbins Heights and has been taken to a trauma center.
Investigators are conducting interviews and executing search warrants, according to RCSO. As of 3:30 p.m., the suspect was still at large.
The sheriff’s office said the shooting appears to be an isolated domestic incident.
