ROCKINGHAM — Deputies are investigating an early morning shooting that reportedly left one man in “critical condition.”
Not many details were released in a Facebook post made the morning of March 28 by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Mark Gulledge said the shooting happened on U.S. 74, just west of Rockingham, “amid a large crowd.”
“If you witnessed anything or possess information, please come forward,” the sheriff pleaded.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Richmond County Crime Stoppers, where they can remain anonymous, by calling 910-997-5454 or by using the P3 Tips app.
Tipsters with information leading to an arrest may qualify for a monetary award, according to the sheriff’s office.
The RCSO says more details will be provided “as the investigation progresses.”
