ROCKINGHAM — A Tennessee man is accused of using a stolen gun to steal another gun from the same victim.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the reported victim was showing a Beretta 92X 9mm handgun with a flashlight attachment to 19-year-old Malik Ladale Miller, of Memphis, Tennessee, on July 7.
Miller allegedly took the Beretta and held the reported victim at gunpoint to steal a SCCY 9mm with red dot sight.
Investigators say although he is from Memphis, Miller has recently been staying in Richmond County.
Miller was arrested July 8 and charged with one felony count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm, and a misdemeanor count of assault by pointing a gun.
He was booked into the Richmond County Jail where he is being held on a 50,000 secured bond. Miller is scheduled to appear in court July 17.
Investigators say there were also two local teenagers involved in the incident and deputies are working to obtain juvenile petitions.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
