ROCKINGHAM — Police are asking for help in finding out who is responsible for breaking into a local restaurant.
According to the Rockingham Police Department, someone ”forcibly gained entry” into #1 Diner by damaging the exterior wall of the restaurant during the early morning hours of Monday, Jan. 26.
The suspect reportedly stole a surveillance camera, assorted candy and a pickle jar.
Anyone with information about the break-in is encouraged to contact Detective Jan Owens 910-895-2468, Richmond County Crime Stoppers through its Facebook page, or use the P3 Tips app, where tips remain anonymous.
Tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. There is also an $1,100 reward being offered by the restaurant and other donors for information leading to the identification of the individual responsible.
According to the #1 Diner Facebook page, this is the third time the restaurant has been broken into in recent years.
