ROCKINGHAM — A Richmond County man is facing misdemeanor charges after allegedly shooting at a vehicle.
According to warrants, 52-year-old Brian Keith Gerald shot out the tires of a 2012 Honda Accord on Friday, Dec. 13, and walked along the roadway with a shotgun and a 9mm handgun.
Gerald was arrested and charged with injury to personal property and going armed to the terror of the people.
Records show Gerald was also arrested on a warrant from Nov. 8, for allegedly driving a 2001 Dodge Ram without consent of the owner. For that he is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Gerald was booked into the Richmond County Jail where he is being held on a $25,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 2, 2025.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Gerald was convicted in 2003 of hiring with intent to defraud. Two years later, he was convicted of obtaining an advance under a written agreement.
In 2009, records show Gerald was convicted of assault on a female, discharging a firearm into an occupied property and damage to property.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
