ROCKINGHAM — Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office have charged a man with shooting into a moving vehicle.

According to warrants, 46-year-old Jarrod Alexander Andrews, fired a .40-caliber handgun into a Ford F-350 on July 7.

The warrant does not state how many people were inside the vehicle at the time, just that the truck was in motion.

Based on charges, there do not appear to have been any injuries in the altercation.

(NOTE: Although Andrews has a Mount Gilead address, it is still located in Richmond County.)

Court records show Andrews had an outstanding warrant from June 25 for allegedly trespassing onto a neighboring property of someone with the same last name and damaging a vehicle.

He was arrested June 8 and charged with: discharging a weapon into an occupied property or moving vehicle; discharging a firearm into an enclosure to incite fear; and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also served with the June 25 warrant charging him with community threats and injury to personal property.

Andrews is being held in the Richmond County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 17.

According to court records, there appear to be several related pending charges.

Andrews was charged on March 22 with threatening to kill that same reported victim from the June case and damaging two doors owned by the victim the previous day, according to an arrest warrant charging him with communicating threats and injury to personal property.

On the day of the incident, March 21, records show Andrews was served with a criminal summons for allegedly damaging a Ford Windstar van.

Records show Andrews has several pending traffic violations in Montgomery County.

Andrews has a long list of convictions dating back 25 years, according to records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction.
