Municipal election filing closed at noon Friday with several candidates waiting until the 11th hour.
Hoffman Mayor Karla Bostick filed for reelection and her daughter, Grace Bostick, threw her proverbial hat in the ring for a seat on the town council; and Heather Pack was the last to sign up to run for Ellerbe Town Council.

McKenzie is currently serving as a councilman in Ellerbe and that term expires in 2027, as does that of John Sears Jr.
Two incumbents did not file for reelection: Ellerbe Mayor Brenda Capel; Rockingham Councilman Gene Willard.
All seats in Hoffman are up for reelection every two years, as are the mayoral seats for Rockingham, Hamlet and Ellerbe.
Most other council seats are four-year terms. However, in Rockingham, the top two vote-getters receive a four-year term and the candidate with the third-highest number of votes serves for two years.
The Dobbins Heights election is scheduled for Oct. 7, the other elections will be Nov. 4.
