Richmond County Sheriff's Office investigating another missing persons case

ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Task Force is searching for another man who has been reported missing.

According to the sheriff’s office, 53-year-old Bobby Reece Bryant, was last seen on video captured by a door camera on Battley Dairy Road at 11:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 10.

Bryant was reported missing the following day by his family, according to the sheriff’s office.

He stands around 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs around 165 pounds and has short hair. Bryant was reportedly wearing an orange Clemson Tigers shirt, dark shorts and shoes.

Bryant was reportedly driving a white 2022 Ford Escape with a temporary tag that expires on April 24. That tag number is 40491999.

Investigators say Bryant “experiences cognitive challenges,” and a Silver Alert will be issued.

(NOTE: Sheriff Mark Gulledge later clarified that it would be a Missing Endangered Alert, because a Silver Alert couldn't be issued due to Bryant's age.)

According to the sheriff’s office, Bryant — like the other missing residents — has been entered into the National Crime Information Center, a database managed by the FBI that “provides law enforcement agencies at all levels with immediate access to critical information, aiding in the tracking of missing persons and other criminal justice matters.”

"My team and I approach every missing persons case with the highest level of urgency and dedication. We will exhaust every available resource to locate individuals and reunite them with their loved ones as swiftly as possible," Sheriff Mark Gulledge said in a statement. "To strengthen our efforts, I launched the Missing Persons Task Force that includes local, state, and federal partners to reexamine evidence, develop new leads, and implement innovative strategies that go beyond traditional investigative methods. Our priority is to bring families the answers and closure they deserve."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Richmond County Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454 or visit P3Tips.com/community/index.htm.

Investigators say both platforms are confidential, “and your tip could make a crucial difference.”
