Richmond County Sheriff's Office investigating shots fired into home, vehicles in Little Philadelphia community

ROCKINGHAM — A home and several vehicles in one community were damaged by gunfire Monday evening.

Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call to the 911 Center of shots being fired in the Little Philadelphia community, just north of Rockingham, around 7:15 p.m., according to a press release issued Wednesday.

Investigators say the deputies found damage from apparent gunshots in a home and several cars on Ellen Drive, as well as damaged cars in a driveway on Patterson Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, there were no reported injuries.

Witnesses reportedly told deputies that the suspects firing the shots were in a blue SUV.

The case is still active and investigators are working to identify the vehicle and the suspects, according to the release.
