ROCKINGHAM — Crews will be searching two areas of Richmond County on Wednesday as part of ongoing investigations into the disappearances to two residents.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday that searches will be conducted in both the Meadowood neighborhood near Cordova and the Ashley Chapel Community starting at 8 a.m.
“Multiple specialized search teams and canines across North Carolina will assist the sheriff's office in these searches,” reads a Facebook post.
The searches are related to the missing persons cases of Linda Ann McCuiston and Dennis Wayne Bailey.
McCuiston was last seen alive on Friday, Oct. 11 in her yard on Country Canyon Drive. On March 17, the sheriff’s office announced that remains found the previous week were identified as belonging to McCuiston.
Bailey, 67, has been missing since late December from the Ashley Chapel community along Mizpah Road. The sheriff’s office reports that he was last seen Dec. 28. However, he wasn't reported missing until Jan. 2.
First responders searched both respective areas in the days after McCuiston and Bailey were reported missing.
A total reward of $5,200 is being offered for information leading to the location of Bailey.
Wednesday’s searching is expected to last most of the day.
