Richmond County takes safety measures against coronavirus

ROCKINGHAM — On Monday, the Richmond County government declared a State of Emergency.

The following day, the county administration issued more protections to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The restrictions are listed here:

  • All non-county employees will be prohibited from entering the administrative building.
  • All tax and water payments will need to be processed zt the drive thru, additionally water payments can be made over the phone by dialing 844-507-8414, tax payments can be made by dialing 844-368-1560.  Any questions concerning water can be addressed at 910-997-8201 or 910-997 8202. 
  • All Tax questions or concerns can be answered by dialing 910-997-8270.
  • Once again, we will remain open for business and will work hard to minimize the impact on the public. Our staff will still be at their workstations handling citizen issues and the day-to-day operations of County business. However, no citizens will be allowed in the building. These safeguards are being implemented  to protect our citizens and employees during these unprecedented  times. 

"It is my goal to continue to provide essential services to our citizens with as few disruptions as possible," County Manager Bryan Land said in a statement.

The cities of Rockingham and Hamlet have taken Similar measures.
