ROCKINGHAM — Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office have charged a woman accused of engaging in sexual acts with a minor more than two years ago.

An arrest warrant alleges that Elizabeth Marie Green, now 23, of Marston, had intercourse with a child under the age of 16 in late January of 2024.

According to records, Green would have been 21 years old at the time and more than six years older than the reported victim.

The warrant was issued Oct. 14, charging Green with one felony count each of: statutory rape of a child 15 years old or younger; statutory sex offense with a child 15 years old or younger; and taking indecent liberties with a child.

Green was arrested the same day and booked into the Richmond County Jail where she is being held without bond. Green is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 29.

The release order states that Green does not have a criminal history.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
