HAMLET — Richmond Community College students who have completed the Social & Human Services Technology associate degree can now transfer into the Bachelor of Science in Social Work program at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke.
RichmondCC students can transfer up to 90 credits, leaving approximately 30 credits to complete at UNC Pembroke.
“This agreement represents an exciting opportunity for our Social & Human Services Technology students — particularly those who have completed the Social Services or Addiction & Recovery concentrations — to seamlessly transition into the BSW program at UNC Pembroke,” said Amanda McKenzie, Human Services program coordinator for RichmondCC. “It has been a privilege to collaborate with Dr. Summer Woodside on this meaningful partnership, which is focused on expanding opportunities for our students and providing them with a clear transfer pathway to an excellent institution that participates in the NC Promise tuition plan.”
As an undergraduate student at UNC Pembroke, students will benefit from the NC Promise tuition rates, paying only $500 per semester for in-state tuition and $2,500 for out-of-state tuition.
The North Carolina Tuition Promise Plan (NC Promise) gives RichmondCC students an even greater opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree without going into debt paying for it.

Students can begin their studies with a certificate in one of these concentrations, except for Generalist. All certificates are stackable with degrees, and all certificates are offered 100 percent online.
