HAMLET — Richmond Community College students now have a clear and seamless transfer pathway to Campbell University, a private Christian university in Buies Creek, thanks to the Campbell Assured Admissions Program.
Brent Barbee, RichmondCC president, and Dr. William M. Downs, Campbell University president, signed off on the partnership for the guaranteed admission program at a ceremony Thursday at the Cole Auditorium.
Campbell Assured simplifies the transfer process with early guidance on admissions and financial aid. It provides RichmondCC students early university support with access to advising, orientation and campus resources before transferring to Campbell.
“We are excited about this partnership with Campbell that will allow residents of Richmond and Scotland counties to get an education at this prestigious university,” Barbee said. “Campbell Assured will provide our students with a very supported pathway from RichmondCC to Campbell and ensure their success in their university studies.”
Students who participate in the Campbell Assured program will receive these benefits even before they graduate from RichmondCC:
Downs noted that the leaders of both institutions could have signed the agreement virtually, but instead they choose to do it in person.
“It’s important for us to meet with you because this is about relationships, and we know this will be a good, strong and vibrant relationship for many years to come,” Downs said. “This will not only be a win for each of our institutions, but ultimately, it is a win for our students and our respective regions. We want to recruit more and make more Fighting Camels from this part of the state.”
