ROCKINGHAM — A man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into the same house twice.
Donald Eugene Lampley is accused of breaking into a house on Fayetteville Road on Sept. 18. He was issued a citation for misdemeanor breaking and entering.
Two days later, Lampley was charged with felony breaking and entering at the same address.
Due to his criminal history and having pending charges, Lampley is being held in the Richmond County Jail on a $100,000 secured bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 15 for the felony charge and Oct. 21 for the misdemeanor charge.
Lampley was arrested in August on charges of felony larceny and second-degree trespassing. Court records show Lampley has misdemeanor charges of larceny and possession of stolen goods in Union County. Those cases are still pending.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Lampley has the following prior convictions:
2004 - possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance
2005 - misdemeanor breaking and entering
2007 - three counts of breaking and entering a paper currency machine, unauthorized use of motor conveyance (Montgomery)
2009 - possessing stolen goods
2013 - two counts of misdemeanor larceny
2015 - two counts of possession or distribution of a meth precursor (Richmond); larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia (Montgomery)
2016 - selling a Schedule IV controlled substance, delivering or selling a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a Schedule IV controlled substance
2019 - possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
2022 - possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, three counts of breaking and entering vehicles
2024 - misdemeanor larceny, possession of drug paraphernalia (New Hanover)
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
