ROCKINGHAM — Two out-of-towners were allegedly caught with drugs after stealing equipment from a home improvement retailer.
According to warrants, 28-year-old Nadia Kristen Kemble of Charlotte and 31-year-old Daniel Robert Jenkins of Greensboro stole two lawnmowers — valued at $ 1,138 — from the Rockingham Lowe’s store.
The two also reportedly had in their possession four bags of methamphetamine, 32 Xanax pills and a syringe.
Each was arrested and charged by the Rockingham Police Department with: felony larceny; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
(NOTE: Jail records do not reflect the paraphernalia charge for Jenkins.)
Kemble was also cited for speeding for allegedly driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Kemble and Jenkins were each booked into the Richmond County Jail on a $12,500 secured bond and are scheduled to appear in court Oct. 30.
Online court records show Kemble has a pending charge of abandonment of an animal in Guilford County and traffic infractions in Iredell County.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Jenkins is currently on parole, having been released from prison in June. His parole is set to expire March 9, 2026.
Jenkins served nine months when he was convicted in Guilford County on three counts of felony larceny and one count of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance in 2024. His probation was also revoked from a 2023 conviction of felony larceny.
Jenkins was first convicted in 2013 of misdemeanor larceny in Alamance County, records show.
Kemble appears to have no prior convictions in North Carolina.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
