Rockingham Police file charges in break-ins at #1 Diner, The Dollar Store

ROCKINGHAM — A man already accused of multiple business break-ins is facing additional charges.

Investigators with the Rockingham Police Department have charged 36-year-old Zackery Lee Reaves in connection to three incidents at #1 Diner and one at The Dollar Store.

Reaves is accused of trying to and later breaking into the restaurant on Nov. 29, 2025, breaking the glass front door and attempting to cut a hole in the metal back door with a grinder. He allegedly stole an estimated $200 in miscellaneous food items.

He allegedly returned to the restaurant on Jan.. 25 and took a security camera, candy and a pickle jar.

Reaves is also accused of stealing more than $2,900 in merchandise from The Dollar Store on March 3.

Warrants related to these incidents were issued on March 31 and April 6, charging Reaves with: three counts of breaking and entering; three counts of larceny after breaking and entering; two counts of injury to real property; one count of damage to property; one count of attempted breaking and entering; and one count of possession of stolen goods or property.

Reaves was already in jail on 26 charges from an alleged two-week crime spree. With the new charges, he is being held on a combined $245,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court April 9.

Police say the investigation is still active and more charges may be forthcoming.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
