ROCKINGHAM — Richmond Senior High School student-athletes, coaches, teachers and student body fans returned to classes Monday for the first time during the new year.
The first day back sets up a busy week in Richmond athletics, as six varsity programs, along with the two junior varsity basketball teams, will return to a regular playing schedule for the first time since before the holiday break.
Below are the dates and times for Raider and Lady Raider sporting events this week:

Girls’ varsity basketball (8-4, 0-3 SAC) @ Hoke County High School (4-8, 0-3 SAC), 6 p.m.
Boys’ varsity basketball (9-2, 3-0 SAC) @ Hoke County High School (5-7, 0-3 SAC), 8 p.m.
Girls’ junior varsity basketball (3-4, 1-2 SAC) vs. Hoke County High School, 5 p.m.
Boys’ junior varsity basketball (7-3, 1-2 SAC) vs. Hoke County High School, 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 8
Wrestling @ Purnell Swett High School vs. Lumberton and Purnell Swett, conference, duals, 6 p.m.
Swimming @ St. Andrews University in multi-team meet, 6 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 9
Bowling @ Laurinburg Lanes in multi-team meet, 4 p.m. (regular season finale)
Friday, Jan. 10
