ROCKINGHAM — Ruth Anderson Wallace, 93, of Rockingham passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1928 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late John S. and Lula McKenzie Anderson.
She was a member of East Rockingham United Methodist Church where she served on several committee’s and retired from Sears Store. Ruth loved to travel with Paul so many interesting places. For many years she entertained for bridge club members.
She was preceded in death by husband Paul H. Wallace; infant son Michael Wallace; sisters, Helen Phillips and Janet Bryan; and a brother, Jimmy Anderson.
A memorial service will be Friday, March 4, 2022 at 2 p.m. at East Rockingham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Griffin officiating.
Surviving are nieces, Marsha Bruton of Hamlet and Susan Bryan Clarke of Belews Creek; and nephew, Mike Bryan of Pittsboro.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
